Grade Center Column Organization: Hiding Columns From Students

Since hiding columns via the Grade Center ONLY hides the columns from the instructor’s view, the student will continue to see those columns via their My Grades. Hide columns from students by making them unavailable by modifying the columns in the Grade Center.

METHOD 1 - Via the Grade Center (Recommended)

In the Grade Center:

  1. find the column to be hidden and click on the columns Action Link button
  2. from the menu, select Show/Hide to Users

An icon will appear in the column title indicating the column has been hidden to students. The column will not appear in the students' My Grades area.

METHOD 2 - Via Column Creation (Used When Creating the Column)

  1. In the Grade Center, find the column to be hidden and click on the Action Link button
  2. Click on Edit Column Information.

Options

Scroll to the Options section:

1. At the Show this Column to Students selection choose No
2. Click Submit
